Administration Route:
Administered via infiltration, peripheral nerve block, or central neural techniques (e.g., epidural and caudal blocks).

Continuously monitor the patient’s vital signs and state of consciousness during and after administration.
Side Effects
- Dizziness or light headedness: due to effects on the nervous system
- Numbness or tingling: beyond the injection site
- Slow or irregular heartbeat: especially at higher doses
- Nausea or vomiting
- Allergic reactions: rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing (rare but serious)
Precautions
- Hypersensitivity:
Contraindicated in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to lidocaine or other amide-type local anaesthetic. - Cardiovascular Impairment:
Use with caution in patients with impaired cardiovascular function as they may be less able to compensate for functional changes associated with the prolongation of A-V conduction produced by lidocaine. - Pregnancy and Lactation:
Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Caution is advised when administering to nursing women. - Pediatric Use:
