Moxicip

Category:
Composition: Moxifloxacin USP
Strength: 0.5% w/v

Description:

Moxicip contains moxifloxacin, a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It is formulated as a 0.5% w/v ophthalmic solution for topical application to the eyes. Moxifloxacin functions by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription, and repair, thereby leading to bacterial cell death.

Moxicip is indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of bacteria. Bacterial conjunctivitis is an infection of the membrane covering the outside of the eyeballs and the inside of the eyelids.
