Description
Dosage and Administration
Intravenous only.
Administer undiluted by slow intravenous injection over 2 to 5 minutes or diluted in 0.9% sodium chloride injection and infused over a longer period, as per physician’s discretion.

- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Injection site reactions (pain, swelling, redness)
- Changes in taste
- Joint pain
- Back pain
- Chest pain
- Severe hypotension
- Anaphylactic reactions
- Shortness of breath
- Signs of hypersensitivity (rash, itching, swelling)
Precautions
- Hypersensitivity:
Patients with a known hypersensitivity to iron sucrose or any of its components should not use this product. - Hypotension:
Iron sucrose may cause hypotension. Monitor blood pressure during and after administration. - Infection Risk:
Parenteral iron may exacerbate infections. Use with caution in patients with active infections. - Pregnancy and Lactation:
Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Caution is advised when administered to nursing women. - Pediatric Use:
Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established.
