Description:

Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the (H+, K+)-ATPase enzyme system at the surface of the gastric parietal cell. This action blocks the final step of acid production, leading to a reduction in gastric acidity.
