Administration Route:
Intravenous (IV) use only.
Note:
Dosage adjustments may be necessary based on individual patient requirements and clinical judgment.
Side Effects
- Headache
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
- Vomiting
- Injection site reactions (pain, redness, swelling)
- Increased risk of fractures of the hip, wrist, or spine, especially with long-term use.
Precautions
- Gastrointestinal Infections:
Use of PPIs may increase the risk of gastrointestinal infections such as Clostridioides difficile. - Bone Fracture Risk:
Long-term and high-dose use of PPIs may be associated with an increased risk of osteoporosis-related fractures.
